The Old Hall - Youlgreave, Derbyshire

The Old Hall is a grade II listed house in a conservation area in the village of Youlgreave in the Peak District National Park in the United Kingdom.

It has been the subject of newspaper and magazine articles, postcards, well dressings, a painting sold at auction and even a model made of cake, pictured in the UK national press and on television. The Old Hall is mentioned in the introduction to Sir Nikolaus Pevsner’s Derbyshire volume of The Buildings of England.

The history of the building spans at least five centuries, but few records of that history seem to have survived. This website seeks to bring together some of those records that are available and record some of the more recent history that is within living memory.
